Hyundai’s MOCEAN Subscription: Redefining Mobility in Germany and Beyond. In an exclusive interview with Automotive News Europe, Liran Golan, Director of Mobility Services at Hyundai Connected Mobility, shares Hyundai’s vision for MOCEAN Subscription and its role in shaping the future of mobility across Europe.

Expanding Opportunities in Germany: With the German car subscription market projected to grow at a 33.5% annual rate until 2030, Hyundai sees immense potential. MOCEAN is designed to meet the needs of Germany’s business and consumer markets, focusing on flexible, all-inclusive vehicle subscriptions.

Driving EV Adoption: Subscriptions are a key strategy to encourage drivers to try electric vehicles (EVs) without long-term commitments. In Germany, the majority of MOCEAN customers already prefer EVs, signaling a strong shift toward sustainable mobility.

Appealing to New Audiences: MOCEAN attracts a younger demographic, with an average customer age of 42—nearly a decade younger than Hyundai’s traditional buyers. It also caters to expats, young professionals, and businesses with evolving fleet needs.

Path to Profitability: While subscriptions take time to become profitable, Hyundai’s strategy leverages its dealer network, focuses on lean operations, and avoids heavy marketing costs to ensure a clear path to sustainable growth.

Golan emphasizes that Hyundai’s partnership with Casi is integral to MOCEAN’s success, enabling advanced subscription technology that supports flexibility, seamless user experiences, and scalable operations.
